Charlie’s Charms – Modern Slavery Statement (Human Rights)
Financial Year: 2025/2026
1. Introduction
Charlie’s Charms (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation in all parts of our business and supply chain. We take our responsibility seriously and expect the same commitment from our suppliers, partners, and contractors.
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we have taken to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains.
2. Our Business
Charlie’s Charms is a sole trader business designing, creating, and selling handmade jewelry via our website www.charlies-charms.co.uk. All products are handcrafted by us or sourced from carefully selected suppliers.
3. Supply Chains
Our supply chain primarily consists of:
Suppliers of metals, gemstones, and jewelry-making materials;
Packaging and shipping providers;
Third-party service providers for logistics, website, and e-commerce support.
We conduct due diligence on our suppliers to ensure ethical practices and compliance with applicable labour laws.
4. Our Policies and Practices
To mitigate the risk of modern slavery, we have implemented:
Supplier vetting and agreements requiring compliance with human rights laws;
Clear communication of our expectations regarding labour practices;
Awareness of risk factors such as sourcing materials from high-risk countries;
Training for ourselves on recognising and reporting signs of modern slavery.
5. Risk Assessment
While our business is small and largely self-managed, we recognise that risks exist primarily in the sourcing of raw materials. We actively seek suppliers who share our values regarding fair labour practices, and we maintain records to verify compliance.
6. Reporting and Accountability
Any concerns regarding modern slavery or unethical labour practices can be reported directly to Charlie’s Charms via email at charliescharmsuk@gmail.com. Reports will be treated confidentially, and appropriate action will be taken.
7. Review and Continuous Improvement
We commit to reviewing this statement annually and taking further steps to improve transparency, monitoring, and ethical compliance within our supply chain.
